Lantern Pub Famiy Restaurant in Ashley

So our plane from Punta Gorda, Fl landed at Mid-America Airport at 7:30am yesterday and on our way home from Spring Training 2020 (go Cards!) at 8:30am we stopped at the Lantern Pub in Ashley,il for food and they had ready to eat from the most amazing salad bar we have ever seen. EVER SEEN EVER. It's worth the 1/2 hour drive from Mt.Vernon,Il if you love salads. It comes with a soup of the day. Yesterday's soup was chicken noodle. And no they didn't comp me for this review.

Really a enjoyable and fun place to eat. Food is always great atmosphere always lite and funfilled and the best hostesses anywhere. Really a grest place to dine and relax.

We decided to have supper with our brother and sister-in-law at the Pub tonight. We ordered 3 of the catfish filet dinners and a gizzared/liver dinner. I asked to have my catfish cooked well done. When I got my fish, it was not cooked all of the way done, it was pink inside. I decided not to throw a fit, they were busy, but it will be a long time before we eat there again...

I love the food, basically can get anything to eat, even if you have to have something different being on different types of diets

All you can eat fish nights, cold beer, decent prices, family friendly, comfort food. THE BEST pies! You can buy slices or whole pies of super sinful concocted homemade deliciousness. It's worth driving into Ashley to get a pie. The bathroom is weird and feels a bit, outhousey though it's actually clean enough.

All you can eat fried chicken on Sundays is the best hangover remedy ever! Decent sides, delicious sweet tea and a list of pies that will blow you away. The service was great, our bartender was the sweetest thing. Double bonus, with ayce fried chicken being the first, you can order beer to go. I'm sure it's commonplace in Illinois, but a big novelty to us Tennesseans.

This is the 2nd time I have brought my family to the L.P. for a Sunday chicken dinner. We had a very good meal and had plenty of it. The waitresses we had were very very nice and didn't hesitate to make sure our drinks were filled and plates were full of chicken. Plenty of tables and space so a person wouldn't feel like they were sitting on someone else's lap. Thank you L.P., we shall return!

Waitresses were great, Not a good selection of beer and you can only have mashed potatoes and gravy on Sunday & Wednesday only. That sucked!! The chicken is great!! But don't ask for corn, they don't have any.
